Scanning an Anatomic Crown

Prerequisite

The Mounting an Object on the Scanning Table within the Scanning Range step must be completed.

Consider using the Advanced Settings before scanning an object.

Steps

  1. From the Crown and Bridge section, click Anatomic.
  2. In the Situation Manager, select the tooth number of the preparation.
  3. Click Adjacent.
    Note:

    Numbered transparent circles are displayed in the Camera View.

  4. In the Situation Manager, select the adjacent teeth.
  5. In the Camera View, align the numbered transparent circles over their corresponding unit.
  6. Click Scan
    Note:

    Scanning can take several minutes.

  7. Follow displayed instructions.
    Note:

    Steps 8 and 9 can be completed while scanning is being carried out.

  8. From the Restoration List, select a shade and a material type for the restoration.
  9. Complete the information on patient, identifier, dentist and technician.
    Note:

    Consider Improvement Options before proceeding to the next step.

  10. Fit the bite index on the model.
    Note: If you do not have the bite index, proceed to the last step. Bite index scanning is optional but is recommended for better results.
  11. Click Bite index.
  12. In the Situation Manager, select the teeth covered by the bite index.
  13. In the Camera View, set the blue rectangle over the teeth covered by the bite index.
  14. Click Scan

    Consider Improvement Options before proceeding to the next step.

  15. Click Finish.

Result

A situation is created with the scan. The situation is sent to the NobelProcera Crown and Bridge module where the anatomic crown can be designed.
