Scanning Standard CAD Abutment Adjacent Teeth

Prerequisite

The Scanning Engaging Locators procedure must be completed.

Consider using the Advanced Settings before scanning an object.

Replace the soft tissue that was removed for the locator scanning. Remember, soft tissue material should be sprayed with a CAD spray so it can be detected by the scanner.

Steps

  1. From the Scan list, click Upper or Lower depending on the type of jaw being scanned.
  2. Set the blue rectangle over the area of the model you wish to scan including emergence profiles, adjacent teeth, etc.
    Note:

Consider rotating the mouse wheel to increase the size of the blue rectangle to fully cover the implants and adjacent teeth. You can add points to the rectangle by clicking on the central line running through the rectangle.

  3. Click Scan.
    Note:

    Scanning can take several minutes.

  4. When scanning is completed, from the Scan View, rotate the scan in all orientations to check the presence of holes.
    Note:

Consider Improvement Options before proceeding to the next step.

  5. From the Restoration List list, select a shade and material for each restoration.
  6. Complete patient, technician, identifier and dentist information.
  7. Click Finish.

Result

A situation is created with the scan. The situation is sent to the NobelProcera Abutment module where the Standard CAD abutment can be designed.
