Only available in DTX Studio™ diagnose Pro. |
To load a 3D scan:
In the diagnose module, click to open the patient menu.
Click Data .
Select Import and then 3D scan.
Note
If this diagnosis already contains a 3D scan, a warning is displayed to inform you that the current 3D scan together with its tooth findings and measurements will be removed from the opened diagnosis. For an optimal workflow, it is recommended to start a new diagnosis.
Click Import DICOM .
Browse to the location of the DICOM image file and select its folder.
Click Select folder.
The DICOM files are loaded into the system. Use the slider on the right-hand side and scroll through the slices to check the DICOM image. To set the scan range, select one of the Set scan range buttons or use the white handles on the tooth chart rectangle to indicate the teeth that were scanned. Click Next.
Set the Isovalue . Drag the bottom slider or enter a value in the Bone threshold box. Click Next.
On the orientation page, the 3D patient model can be oriented in the preferred position by translating and rotating the model in the 3D viewers. Click the pan icon or the rotation icon
or press the Tab key to switch between rotation and translation mode. The selected mode appears in green.
Drag the model until the occlusal plane is correctly aligned with the Occlusal reference line. Click Next.
Indicate the points and teeth as requested by the system. Click Next.
Notes
If a full scan range is scanned for a patient older than 8 years and the width of the loaded image data is ≥ 80 mm and the height of the image is set ≥ 55 mm, the system will automatically calculate the reslice curve.
The number and type of points that need to be indicated are dependent on the scan range.
To select the other jaw, click Lower arch or Upper arch
. If a reslice curve is created for both jaws, the generated OPGs will be available in the 3D Panoramic workspace. Click Edit scan range
to adjust the scan range by selecting one of the Adjust scan range buttons or by using the white handles on the tooth chart.
The indicated points appear in red. Drag and drop a red point to move the point to another location. Click to add a control point.
To start over, click Reindicate curve and indicate the points and teeth as requested by the system.
Adjust the reslice curve on the axial reslice viewer. When the teeth are not clearly visible, use the slider on the right-hand side to adjust the position of the axial reslice to a plane showing the tooth setup (approximately converging with the occlusal plane). Adjust the plane according to the dental arch. Fine-tune the calculated curve by manipulating the existing control points or clicking and dragging on the surrounding area to move the complete curve. The panoramic preview image on the left-hand side is automatically updated. Click Finish.
The patient head model is added in the scene.
Note
The 3D image orientation can be optimized later via the patient orientation action. The OPG curve action allows to adjust the 3D OPG.
