Scanning the Model

Prerequisite

The scanning of the locators should be completed.

Non-engaging locators must be removed from model.

If a soft tissue model is available, it should be set back into place.

Consider using the 35° mirrors and the Curve Advanced Settings before scanning an object that should require information from lateral or recessed areas.

Spray translucent or non-optical scan material with a CAD spray in order for the scanner to accurately detect these materials. Failure to do so can result in a lack of data or less accurate data. The Gypsum does not need to be sprayed.

Steps

  1. From the Scan List, select Gypsum model.
  2. From the Camera View, set the blue square to cover all relevant model information needed to properly design the Bar.
  3. Position the blue circles over the reference jig circles.
    Note:

Position the blue circles over the same set of reference circles. It does not need to be the same set used to scan the locators.

  4. Click Scan.
    1. If a warning is displayed indicating that Height validation failed, adjust the height of the table until the red column changes to green.
    2. Make sure the blue circles and square do not need to be readjusted.
    3. Click Retry.

Result

The scanned model is displayed in the Scan View.
