Prerequisite
The abutment-coping
co-design situation must have been saved from the
NobelProcera Scan module.
Steps
-
From the NobelProcera Front End
Manager, select the situation from the Abutment situation list.
-
From the NobelProcera
Abutment module, design the abutment as required.
Note: The
Situation viewer shows the coping diagram on top of the abutment, which indicates that the situation is a co-design (standard CAD in the picture).

-
In case of a planned cutback coping in a co-design situation, adjust the crown proposal orientation, scaling and local deformations. The crown proposal design will persist once in the NobelProcera Crown and
Bridge module.
-
Click Finish and exit the NobelProcera
Abutment
module.
Note: Since the coping design depends of the abutment shape, modifying the
abutment after designing the coping makes the coping obsolete. Consequently, if the user confirms his
action in the displayed warning, the obsolete coping is deleted.
-
Prepare the situation in the Situation Builder. It is mandatory to segment soft tissue information and any jaw objects (adjacents, etc.) selected at scan time before the situation is opened in the NobelProcera Crown and
Bridge module.
-
Open the situation from the Situation Builder module and perform the segmentation of the adjacent teeth and soft
tissue objects.
-
Click Finish.
-
From the NobelProcera Front End
Manager, select the co-design situation from the Crown and Bridge situation list.
Note: A half-designed co-design should show this icon (abutment is designed and coping is ready for design):
-
From the NobelProcera Crown and
Bridge
module, design the coping as usual.
Note: The software will construct the default coping with a full collar 0.2 mm high to optimize the design for the best fit quality.
Note: The margin line design is the same that was saved from the Abutment module
and should already be valid.
-
Click Finish and exit the NobelProcera Crown and
Bridge
module.
Result
A complete abutment-coping co-design situation is created and ready to order.
