In some cases, you may still want to change a restoration even when the wizard has already finished. You have two options to do this:
a) Free-forming on the finished mesh (the 'merged part' that was created in the final wizard step). This option is available in the context menu once you have finished constructing a bridge with the wizard.
b) Editing individual parts (e.g. adding or removing connectors). This requires the 'merged part' to be deleted first.
In the treatment line, on the Case design card, click Edit. The case is opened in the design module in expert mode. Right-click the background and select Free-form merged restoration. You may now free-form on the entire bridge.
The free-forming mode allows you to make connectors thinner than specified. Therefore, it is recommended to check the connector thickness by clicking Visualize connector cross section on the Free tab. If the connector is not thick enough, it might not be produced. Add material to increase the connector thickness if the thickness visualization shows magenta. |
When you click OK in the Free-form merged restoration dialog, the software will ask you whether you would like to save your changes.
To unlock the options for editing individual parts, right-click the background and select Delete constructed parts. Make sure Merged parts is selected in the Delete drop-down list, and click OK.
Note
If parts of your restorations appear to be gone, do not worry – they are just hidden. Use the Show/hide groups option to make them visible again.
The context menu will contain additional options, e.g. Abutments. When done editing, click Save in the CAD menu to save your changes.
Measure the thickness or the distance on the mesh using the Measurement tool, which is available through the Tools button in the CAD menu.
A mesh alignment tool, Align Meshes , which allows three-point alignment and best-fit matching, is available through the Tools button in the CAD menu.
Tip
This is useful for positioning situation model scans, if they have not already been correctly positioned by the scanner software.
When finished with the CAD design, close the design module. You will be prompted to save the scene. This allows you to restore the current state of the CAD design at a later point, including the possibility to perform additional modifications. You may also save the scene without closing the design module, of course. Use the context menu, or click Save . Scenes should be saved when the wizard is closed and no editing dialogs are open.
