Adjust alignment

If during the Surgery model wizard the alignment of the dental cast and the patient model failed or if you were not satisfied with the alignment and chose to align one or both jaws manually:

Click Adjust Alignment in the Surgery model wizard or in the alignment error message.

Click either Adjust upper cast alignment or Adjust lower cast alignment to select for which jaw you want to manually adjust the alignment.

Note

After the manual alignment of one jaw, the other jaw can be manually aligned too.

The Edit alignment wizard is opened. Click a point on the patient model and indicate the corresponding point on the dental cast. Place at least three pairs of corresponding points. The corresponding points must be well-distributed over the dental arch.

An explanatory message is displayed in the viewer, stating how many corresponding points have been indicated or how many more corresponding points have to be defined.

A warning is shown in the task panel if one or more pairs of points are not corresponding or if the defined points are insufficiently distributed.

Right-click to finish.

Notes

If less than three pairs of points have been indicated, right-clicking will remove the indicated points, allowing you to start all over again.

If three or more pairs of points have been indicated, right-clicking finishes the action.

Select a point by clicking it. The corresponding point in the other viewer also becomes selected. Selected points are yellow, non-selected points are blue. This allows you to:

remove a selected pair of points by clicking Remove selected points.

toggle back to the adding points mode by clicking Insert points.

remove all points and restart indicating by clicking Reindicate all points.

When the necessary corresponding points are indicated, click Done.

The indicated points are saved.
