Occlusion workflow

Perform occlusions by either working with physical dental casts and positioning them manually, or by performing a virtual occlusion.

Physical occlusion

In the physical occlusion workflow, a dental impression is created, which is then scanned. The STL or DICOM data is added in the Create surgery models wizard. The casts are physically set in occlusion, scanned and added to the model in the Load occlusion wizard.

Action Wizard
1. Add a patient's DICOM set. Load patient model wizard
2. Create and scan a dental cast.
3. Add the STL or DICOM data.

4. Physically set casts in occlusion and scan their new position.
5. Add the STL or DICOM data.
Note: The occlusal position of these physical cast models can be modified with a virtual occlusion as well.

Digital occlusion

In the digital occlusion workflow, physical dental casts are no longer required. Instead, an intraoral scan is made, and the STL data is added in the Create surgery models wizard. Afterwards, the jaws are virtually set in occlusion.

Action Wizard
1. Add a patient's DICOM set. Load patient model wizard
2. Make an intraoral scan of both jaws.
3. Add the STL data.

Note: If you want to perform a segmental osteotomy, follow that wizard first. Afterwards continue with virtual occlusion.
4. Virtually set the jaws in occlusion.
