Color mapping on reslices

Color mapping is used to map a color to a gray value. This may enhance the details in the CT data.

Note

Color mapping provides relevant information only when working with CT data, since the images are expressed in HU values and color maps are constructed for HU values. In the case of cone beam CT images, however, the gray values are not calibrated towards HU values. Applying color mapping might generate irrelevant information.

Switch on the use of color mapping or turn it off using the reslice shortcut menu.

Make sure at least one of the reslices is displayed in the 3D viewer. Right-click the reslice.

Choose Color Mapping.

A check appears in front of the Color Mapping option when color mapping is activated.
