Brightness and contrast

Brightness and contrast are adjustable for color images. For grayscale images and for 2D reslices, the level and window can be adapted. This action cannot be used on a 3D viewer.

When changing the level and window on a reslice viewer, the value is applied to all reslice viewers in the diagnose module. For 2D images, a level and window can be set per 2D image.

To adapt brightness and contrast or level and window:

Click the Viewer tab viewer icon on the smart panel.

Use the Brightness and Contrast sliders (for color images) or Level and Window sliders (for grayscale images and 2D reslices) to adjust brightness and contrast or level and window. Alternatively, enter a value in the corresponding boxes.

Note

Click Reset reset icon to set the brightness and contrast or the level and window back to their default values.

Alternatively:

Click Diagnose in the menu bar.

Click Brightness Contrast brightness and contrast icon.

The cursor changes into a brightness/contrast icon. Drag on a viewer:

horizontally: to change the contrast (or the window for CT data and for grayscale images)

vertically: to change the brightness (or the level for CT data and for grayscale images)

Right-click to stop the action.
