The default X-ray thickness used for a reslice is set at 6 mm. When a reslice is in X-ray mode, the reslice header shows the X-ray thickness. Adjust the thickness of the reslice according to a number of thickness presets or set a custom thickness.
Note
The default thickness for the panoramic reslice is 20 mm.
Make sure the reslice is in X-ray mode. To set the reslice thickness using presets:
1. Right-click the reslice in the 3D viewer and select Property Panel. Alternatively press [Ctrl+P] or [Cmd+P].
2. Go to the Reslice Mode tab.
3. In the Thickness Preset box, select Small, Medium, or Large.
Alternatively, if the reslice is not snapped to an implant or an anchor pin:
1. Right-click the reslice in the 3D viewer and select the Size option.
2. Select Small, Medium, or Large.
Tip
When working in the Panoramic workspace, use the icons in the bottom-right corner of the panoramic reslice to apply a specific thickness preset.

1. Click X-ray Thickness
in the
Tools panel. The mouse pointer changes into
the X-ray thickness mouse pointer.
2. Drag the 2D viewer to adjust the thickness of the X-ray:
— drag to the left to decrease the thickness.
— drag to the right to increase the thickness.
3. Right-click to get out of X-ray thickness mode.
Alternatively,
1. Make sure the reslice is in X-ray mode.
2. Click Reslice Properties
in the
top-right corner of the 2D viewer or right-click the reslice in the 3D
viewer.
3. In the pop-up menu select Thickness.
4. Drag the slider to adjust the custom thickness.
or alternatively,
1. Make sure the reslice is in X-ray mode.
2. Right-click the reslice in the 3D viewer and select Property Panel. Alternatively use [Ctrl+P] or [Cmd+P].
3. Go to the Reslice Mode tab.
4. In the Thickness group, enter the appropriate value in the Thickness field or drag the slider to set the custom thickness.
Note
Whenever the value in the Thickness field is manually adjusted, the value in the Thickness Preset field is automatically set to Custom.
