The Fit to gum features automatically adjust the gingival surface of the bar to follow the shape of the soft tissues, thus preventing gaps and food traps. Fit to gingival surface can be used with Montreal, Montreal with metallic lingual, Paris, Hybrid and Free-form milled bars.
Setting | Description |
Enable fit to gum | Enables the fit to gum options and applies the current fit to gum settings to the design. |
Reapply fit | Rebuilds the bar. |
Automatically reapply fit | Enables the automatic rebuilding of the bar when deformations are applied. |
Cut from gum / Expand to gum | Allows you to select how the fit will be applied: - Expand to gum basically stretches the bar towards the gingival tissue. - Cut from gum removes the bar material colliding with the gingival tissue. |
Respect cylinder finish line | Available for Expand to gum, ensures that the expanded material will extend right to the cylinder design limit (red line). |
Adaptive | Reshapes the gingival surface of the bar to adapt to the ridge topography, otherwise, the section shape of the gingival surface of the bar is preserved. This setting is only available for Expand to gum. The Adaptive range is the maximum expanding distance allowed (in mm) for the Adaptive behavior. |
Distance to gum | Changes the minimal distance between the bar and the gingival tissue. |
Preserve top surface | Ensures that the top surfaces of the bar will not be affected by the fit to gum calculation. Note: In this context, top surface includes every top surface (thus the acrylic finish line shelf of the Hybrid bar) and excludes the walls and the bottom of the bar. |
Rounded edges | Softens the edges along the bar, according to the Rounding radius value (editable when the setting is selected). |
